Our Vision

“Advocates of citizenship education cross the political spectrum, but they are bound by a common belief that our democratic republic will not sustain unless students … know the past, read, write, and think deeply, and act in ways that promote the common good. There will always be differing perspectives on these objectives. The goal of knowledgable, thinking, and active citizens, however, is universal.” - C3 Framework

We believe an effective civic learning plan should be backward-planned from our collective desired profile of high school graduates—those who will be informed participants in, and guardians of, our cherished American system of republican democracy.
